Testimonials for Prescription for Success
Our son had a history of difficulty with his reading fluency. His comprehension was unusually high, given his low fluency scores. To date, his overall grades have not suffered, but we anticipated that they might if we did not seek intervention for his specific needs. We suspected dyslexia as it runs in the family. It turned out that he does in fact have two forms of dyslexia. The multi-sensory approach and visual tracking work that was done at Prescription for Success gave our son the tools and confidence to approach his reading in a more positive light. He continues to make progress and we have begun a new series of exercises at home that are proving very effective as well. We understand that this will be a life long journey! We were very pleased with the progress our son made at Prescription for Success and appreciate the emotional and academic support you provided for our family.

I first took my two daughters to Prescription for Success because I was concerned about my older daughter's spotty grades (and she had been in an IEP earlier as well as having a tutor for several years while in elementary school) hoping that perhaps she had a minor issue that might be clarified and addressed before she began high school. I also brought my younger daughter because I did not want my older daughter to feel singled out. Interestingly, the testing revealed that my eldest was strong in almost all the areas tested. Claudette did not feel that treatment would help her in any measurable way (they do not push treatment, in other words). I did make her read her scores and comments and it increased her confidence level (as well as ours in her). She realized she just needed to buckle down and do the work. She is now in NHS (National Honor Society) her first semester into high school! Additionally, we were surprised to find that our younger daughter had visual difficulties (tracking problems) so we entered her into treatment. In just a few weeks she reported markedly less headaches and her teachers have also commented on her being more focused in school...looks like she will now be a grade level higher in math next year!. All in all, we were very pleased both with the testing and the treatment received. I cannot think that any other treatment center would be more child friendly and caring as well. I strongly recommend this business for any possible learning difficulties as well as the testing process for singling problems out. They were also more than competitively priced so the value in their service is great.

When we see our children struggling, it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact problem that is creating undesirable behavior. Prescription for Success’s elaborate testing identifies their strengths and weaknesses and clearly explains how the combination of issues is creating difficulties. As a psychotherapist, the Andersons have been an invaluable resource to collaborate with for clients who have been misdiagnosed by schools or other professionals with a “behavioral problem” or “mental illness” when in reality it is a processing/learning issue that can be turned around in months with Prescription for Success’s individualized program. It has been wonderful to work together to help families who otherwise would slip through the cracks and never experience the confidence and success that they are capable of. Thank you for your continued perseverance with each individuals unique challenges.

When my daughter began Prescription for Success she was going into second grade at a beginning 1st grade reading level. After just a few sessions we began to see results. Claudette and Perry spent an exhaustive amount of time finding the issue causing her to fall behind then with great patience and skill brought her up to grade level in reading. Her self confidence has improved enormously. She actually likes to read now; she is even reading signs and billboard, something she has never done before. I am thrilled we found them before her dyslexia got out of hand.

The three hour SOI assessment is very comprehensive and it looks at the 27 different areas of your child’s “intelligence”, which includes cognitive thinking abilities, visual processing, and sensory-motor. It pinpointed where my teen was struggling and the subsequent therapy was tailored to my child’s needs. It also revealed my son’s strengths and his gifted areas. This test was an affirmation for me that my son was really struggling and had some issues to address. I recommend this test to anyone who intuitively feels that “my child is very bright but…I believe something is going on with him that is hindering him from excelling.”

"Before completing the Prescription for Success "Brain Mastery Program" for Dyslexics I found it difficult to focus. It felt like I was in the middle of a four-way intersection with traffic whooshing past me in every direction. After learning the centering technique I can now stand at the intersection and focus and see down the path I wish to travel. Before the program I would read and inadvertently skip over words, causing me confusion as to the sentence's meaning, and having to re-read sentences over and over to understand the meaning. Now, I have more control over my trigger words when I read and more often see all the words and understand the meaning the first time. I believe that this program would help any dyslexic at any age. I wish I could have learned these techniques at a much younger age; school would have been much less difficult."

When our son's first grade teacher mentioned holding our son back, we called PFS. Their testing revealed areas in his learning style that were not being addressed in the typical curriculum. After 3 months of work with Claudette and Perry, his confidence is back and he is asking to read. They are truly amazing. Our family is so grateful that we found them!

Prescription for Success has definitely helped my memory. I can see that whenever we do memory exercises. It has also helped me with my processing when reading. I no longer have to go back and re-read things.

From the time our son was in the first grade we were told that he was a bright kid. The problem was that his grades did not reflect his intelligence. Year after year his teachers and school administrators told us the same thing, “He understands the subject matter, but we don’t know how to get it out of him." With each passing school year we began to see the same patterns and trends with his school work. Missing homework assignments and poor test scores were all too common. What encouraged us was that even though his grades were suffering, we knew that if we talked to him about his studies, he could explain what he had learned. All of this had us thinking that his difficulties were brought on by processing and organizational issues rather that lack of effort or aptitude. We did everything we could to help him develop study skills and to organize his school work, but still felt that he may need some type outside assistance to unleash his true potential. We contacted Prescription for Success after being referred by a family friend and have found the program to be a very positive experience for both us and our son. Things began with a comprehensive evaluation of what his specific needs were, followed by a program tailored to his situation. As he began the program we were confident that Prescription for Success was going to help him become the student we always thought he could be. Our son began working with Prescription for Success the second semester of his sophomore year in high school. While he has not yet completed the program, we are very pleased with the early results. Not only have his grades improved, but we have noticed in him a new self confidence that has had a positive effect on his daily life as a teenager. His speech is clearer, his memory is better, and he is much more relaxed with himself in various social settings. We are fully confident that as he enters his junior year of high school his time invested with Prescription for Success will enable him to be a successful, confident student and young man.

Claudette and Perry were wonderful! My son Kaleb improved in so many areas while he was in their program. I am so thankful for their help.

I saw the effects of my work with Claudette and Perry almost immediately. I could memorize stuff quicker. I could see a problem, think it through and not get overwhelmed by it. They've given me confidence too. And they're both really nice!

"My 22 year old dyslexic son recently completed the "BrainMastery" Program for Dyslexics. The changes I see in him are amazing. Ranging from his now being able to read smoothly, rather than stumbling over words, to his overall demeanor going from shy and insecure to one of more confidence, which I am sure will continue to increase as he experiences more success in his life due to learning these techniques of controlling his dyslexia rather than it controlling him. It was so painful watching him struggle through school and feeling they were not helping him, or rather, they didn't know HOW to help him. They just read everything to him rather than teaching him to read. They also separated him from the other students, making him feel stupid and making it more difficult for him to make friends. Completing the SOI testing prior to starting the program also helped him to see that he was truly gifted. I saw this in him, now he is starting to see it in himself, and believe in himself. I will be forever grateful to Claudette and Perry."

So good to have your most recent newsletter. Darlene Roy sent me my first copy years back when you began developing the letter. It has helped one daughter in home schooling five children and another daughter with raising two boys who have learning differences. It has been over ten years since I needed to retire from work and do major overhaul on living skills. My mental retrieval system is consistently inefficient. I have started memory exercises do to your advice and I already see improvement. Thank you.

I wanted to thank Claudette and Perry for helping our daughter so much. We did the Prescription for Success program with her and she never complained about having to go. She really enjoyed working with you both! We have seen a significant improvement in her grades as well as her standardized test scores from last year. She seems more content and less stressed as a result her confidence in general has improved. We appreciate your advocacy in dealing with the school administration as well. It made it easy. Thank you again for helping Avery in so many ways. I would highly recommend Prescription for Success!
Warm regards, Cate V.
My son’s grades dropped upon entering 4th grade and he was struggling with focus, organization and he was easily fatigued. The issues weren’t severe enough to warranted school involvement but, as a mother, I knew there was an underlying issue causing his difficulties. Prescription for Success identified his underlying issues, explained his strengths and weaknesses, and within 2 months of beginning the program, his grades improved significantly. By the end of the program not only could his teachers and I see his increased confidence, energy, focus and organization-but he could feel it in himself!! Thank you very much!

Perry and Claudette: I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work yesterday with Sydney. When she finished her test, I thought she would be exhausted, frustrated, and in a horrible mood, but she wasn't! I know it was your positive approach that kept her spirits high....Thank you!

Thank you for developing such a wonderful relationship with my dyslexic son. He has made tremendous strides in reading. We appreciate your hard work and investment in our family. Many thanks.

Thanks, Claudette, for all your help. I don’t know what we would have done if we would have not found Prescription for Success.

When we came to Prescription for Success, we just had a feeling “something wasn’t clicking” with our 12 year old daughter, when it came to school and homework. She seemed to make silly mistakes with her homework and complained of headaches, almost daily. With the help of PFS’s learning therapy, our daughter no longer has headaches and she is able to focus more on her work. She is loving school this year! Thank you Prescription for Success for the positive and caring learning environment and for making our daughter feel successful!

We just appreciate what you do for kids and that you are willing to be there when we have questions. Your newsletters are also very informative and I love reading them. I wish I could give some of the information to all teachers I know. Thank you for caring!
