BrainMastery Program for Dyslexics
Prescription for Success is now offering the training program for Dyslexics called BrainMastery, a Unique Strategy to Control Dyslexia. This program includes Ron Davis’s clay techniques for letters, numbers, and words. The program is geared for students approximately 10 years and older. It is an intense study involving five hour days for five days.
- Learn “trigger” words that cause distortion or confusion in the mind of a dyslexic
- Recognize and control perceptions of letters, words and numerals
- Build conceptual skills to overcome dyslexia
- Learn visual and meaning-based techniques for ease of reading and comprehension
- Understand symbols such as the alphabet, numerals, punctuation marks utilizing the Ron Davis Clay Technique
At the end of the BrainMastery program, students have a full understanding of the techniques, and they know how to continue the procedure with other “trigger” words that they may encounter in their studies.

More About The BrainMastery Program
The dyslexic student learns how to recognize and control the mental state that leads to distorted and confused perceptions of letters, words and numerals. Through a simple mental technique while standing on the Belgau balance board and using a level, the students learn to turn off the thought processes that cause misperceptions. They learn to be “centered.” They are able to restore their minds for reading and other studies. Once this technique is learned, the student is ready to build the conceptual skills that will allow them to overcome problems stemming from dyslexia.
BrainMastery methods teach a visual and meaning-based approach that is easier for dyslexic students to learn and use. This leads to more rapid progress than traditional instruction and most students become fluent and capable readers. BrainMastery gives dyslexic students the ability to think with symbols and words, so they can learn to read easily and with full comprehension.
Using clay, students first work with the alphabet, numerals, and punctuation marks, to make sure that they have an accurate perception and understanding of these symbols. Students then use clay to model the trigger words--286 short abstract words, frequently encountered in reading, such as and, the, to, or it. These words cause problems when dyslexic students cannot form a mental picture to go along with them. Through BrainMastery, the student makes a three-dimensional clay model of the meaning of each word, together with a model of the letters of the words. With this approach, learning is permanent.
Parents are instructed near the end of the training in using the basic methods taught, so that they can continue to work with the student at home. At the end of the BrainMastery program, students have a full understanding of the techniques, and they know how to continue the procedure with other “trigger” words that they may encounter in their studies.
For younger children, Prescription for Success will interweave the BrainMastery program throughout our academic Reading Curriculum. These students will develop the same techniques over time, but not at the intense instruction pace that older students receive.

"Before completing the Prescription for Success "Brain Mastery Program" for Dyslexics I found it difficult to focus, It felt like I was in the middle of a four-way intersection with traffic whooshing past me in every direction. After learning the centering technique I can now stand at the intersection and focus and see down the path I wish to travel.
Before the program I would read and inadvertently skip over words, causing me confusion as to the sentence's meaning, and having to re-read sentences over and over to understand the meaning. Now I have more control over my trigger words when I read and more often see all the words and understand the meaning the first time.
I believe that this program would help any dyslexic at any age. I wish I could have learned these techniques at a much younger age, school would have been much
less difficult."

"My 22 year old dyslexic son recently completed the "BrainMastery" Program for Dyslexics. The changes I see in him are amazing. Ranging from his now being able to read smoothly, rather than stumbling over words, to his overall demeanor going from shy and insecure to one of more confidence, which I am sure will continue to increase as he experiences more success in his life due to learning these techniques of controlling his dyslexia rather than it controlling him.
It was so painful watching him struggle through school and feeling they were not helping him, or rather, they didn't know HOW to help him. They just read everything to him rather than teaching him to read. They also separated him from the other students, making him feel stupid and making it more difficult for him to make friends.
Completing the SOI testing prior to starting the program also helped him to see that he was truly gifted. I saw this in him, now he is starting to see it in himself, and believe in himself. I will be forever grateful to Claudette."
